After taxes it's 1.4 billion dollars ( over 1.3 billion euro or 1.2 billion sterling). Can you imagine??

makes the euromillions seem flimsy.

Make mine and a lot of other peoples lives a lot easier! Us & our family / friends would be set for life and I'd be supporting all the organisations that have touched us over the years.

JaneJeffer · 09/11/2022 12:22

I'd find it head wrecking to go from waiting for a pair of boots to go in the sales to being able to afford all the boots in the world Confused

you'll have somebody come along soon telling you they wouldn't want to win the lotto or be wealthy and have enough and that people don't need large amounts of money etc....

Usually these people have no experience of poverty or struggle.

I’d love to win but I would share and make a few lives a lot easier

Thanks! Not sure what to spend it on.

Lunch, probably!

PuttingDownRoots · 09/11/2022 12:26

My point is... an extrene win wouldn't necessarily achieve happiness and could cause stress of a different kind. Personally 10 Million would be absolutely enough. It would cover housing, education, healthcare and leisure for the family.

mondaytosunday · 09/11/2022 12:29

I wish they would cap individual winnings. So say it was capped at $100m - still more than enough, even after taxes (do you pay taxes in you win in the UK)? Then instead of one ultra mega winner, there'd be 2000 very happy people out there, and $100m is still high enough, and having more likely chance of winning, would keep people buying tickets.

Igmum · 09/11/2022 15:27

I'd settle for £10 million too Grin. I would worry that at the level of the super rich family might be kidnap targets or something equally awful. £10 million would be fabulous without getting into that league.

Threadkillacilla · 09/11/2022 15:30

That's truly lifechanging dosh.
I would enjoy trying to fettle that.

No tax on winnings in the UK, and the lotto is capped at 5 rollovers, then it goes to the next tier down and split between the other winning tickets. The euromillions is capped too but it's an obscenely high figure and almost never happens.

A couple of years ago I matched 4 numbers on a 'must be won draw', would have won about £60 normally, actually won over £600 Smile

Brigante9 · 09/11/2022 15:37

Honestly, 10 people's lives could have been made so much better-share it out when it's an insane amount like that!

Rocklobstershell · 09/11/2022 15:42

I think that kind of money could be so dangerous- I mean it would be really hard to hide a big win like that and when it went public (which I think it would inevitably) you’d have worries like having a child held hostage or being attacked to live with. Not to mention being inundated with begging requests.

1st of all you are wrong because the research shows that the higher the jackpot the higher the sales. Next is your what you were making 2000 people multi millionaires and and this was happening frequently then it fucks up the economy and would cause inflation because there would be too many millionaires.
