Do you buy you children gifts that they would like? Or you would like?

I wanted to buy a little play set that I would have lived as a child, my dh said no, you're not buying it for them it's for you. And it was so true!

Does anyone else do this?

By the way, it was a really elaborate, wooden doctor set but my kids don't want to play Dr's!
