To have lied about being up in the night?

I have been working the last 4 days, long hours, busy job. My husband has had the kids the whole time, when not at nursery.

Today is my day off, the 18 month old woke this morning at 5.55 and instead of getting up with him, I nudged my husband and said I'd been up with our son twice in the night and please could he get up... He did willingly as he always does bless him.

However, I haven't been up, both myself and the baby slept all night long. I just needed more sleep 🙈 my daughter only just woke up now so it's just been my DH and my son up. Now theyre all getting ready for nursery, and I'm still in bed drinking the coffee that DH brought me. Then he is going shopping, taking the car to the garage and then dropping the baby off home and going to work.

AIBU? (I know I am btw, just wondered if others have done the same 🙈 I will get up tomorrow and let DH lie in!)

Hmmm, nah probably not lol. But he sounds nice did you need to lie? He would have got up anyways?

What has he been doing when they’re at nursery?

If working himself then YABU
If not working and he’s been pottering around the house then YA still U not just to ask him if he’s ok to get up as you need a bit more sleep

He has just been at home with the little one who has been ill, and obviously being the weekend has been home with them both. It isn't easy being home with them but now I'm off for 3 days so it's my turn.

My 18 month old hasn't been a good sleeper and I've breastfed so he has always done the early mornings with them and I have a lie in and then a coffee since I had been feeding during the night. It's hard to get out of the habit now he sleeps through 🙈 I'll get up tomorrow to make up for it, I think I was just in a half sleep state and couldn't think clearly what else to do haha.

I definitely didn't need to lie, it just kind of happened!

I was all ready to say YABU but I've changed my mind Grin

'Thin edge of the wedge' to me.
It starts with lying about 'being up all night' and can lead to 'I was having a pizza in Woking at the time'

Done it too many times lol. I did feel guilty. Ime it was usually just to go to baby’s room and put the dummy back in his mouth.
