To use vicks then hold baby?

OK OK probably not the intended use for this sub but I didn't know where to actually ask!

We all have covid, mild but annoying cold like symptoms for me and worse for my other half. Want to use some vicks on myself (absolutely NOT on baby) but as it's not recommend for use on children or babies I don't know if it means I shouldn't hold baby after? She's 10 weeks old and the calpol plugins can't be used until 3 months either so is it the vapors or it being on the skin that's the issue? Google has been no help, just showing me things about baby vicks!

Could you use baby vicks on yourself if it's safe for your baby too?

Unfortunately we only have normal as I didn't even think about this when buying it. I can cope without if its not safe but it would just be nice for a bit of relief.

Could you rub a little just on your nostrils and keep it off your chest / anywhere baby might lay their head?

I don't think it's the smelt of it so much as the actual putting it on the skin

Don’t - it contains camphor which isn’t great (dangerous) for children.

A GP once told me that Vicks can be diluted with some Vaseline if needed to use on babies.
If that's true then I can't see any problem with you putting Vicks on yourself and not on the baby

Please don’t mix it with Vaseline and apply it to babies! Just Google Camphor + babies / children to see why it’s a bad idea.
