AIBU to think this is not a normal period?

My period started 10 days early, 18 days ago. I still have day 1 type flow, spoke to doctor on Friday who said ‘these things happen sometimes’ and reluctantly gave me tranexemic (sp) acid which has done nothing, need advice on what to say when I call again tomorrow.

Have you recently changed/ come off birth control? If so then it could be your body adapting. I'd keep following it up with the gp regardless though and keep resting/ making sure you're getting lots of iron in your diet.

How old are you?

TonksInPurple · 06/11/2022 23:25

I’m 40 nothings changed, apart from I was taking melatonin to help with migraines.

Changes in melatonin levels can affect your cycle. Also when I went to the GP about having 2 periods in a month, I was told that the Covid jab has been reported to cause changes in cycles.
I hope it settles for you soon.

I’ve not had a covid vaccine this winter I had a terrible period after it before.
