Anybody else ever notice that these seem to have a massive appeal to posters and get the most responses/discussion?

I think there is truth in your statement. Being excluded is something we all fear but sadly have all experienced and the feeling never goes away so that's why the threads on it will be popular.

BridasShieldWall · 04/11/2022 19:40

Parking and cheeky fucker threads are the best

ClocksGoingBackwards · 04/11/2022 19:44

Definitely some truth in that. I’m guilty of liking an inheritance thread. Love the ones about seating on planes too.

DrFoxtrot · 04/11/2022 19:46

I love a juicy cheeky fucker thread, personally Grin.

MissAmbrosia · 04/11/2022 19:46

I find the inheritance ones quite fascinating. Always on the look out for another "Zeebrugge" type thread.

DrFoxtrot · 04/11/2022 19:47

Yes, plane seating CF threads are what I'm here for.

Lilithslove · 04/11/2022 19:47

There was a thread the about whether or not half a tin of soup is enough that was massively popular. Hundreds of replies within a couple of hours.

majellalos · 04/11/2022 19:48

yes agreed I think they are interesting as they can really bring out the worst in people and show people for who they really are and it can often shock us.

PAFMO · 04/11/2022 19:52

Nah.
It's the pretend neighbours doing pretend things surely?
Or the real ones doing things everybody except the OP finds completely normal.

UpsilonPi · 04/11/2022 19:58

"Should we have split the bill five ways or three?"

I love those.

They are my favourite too.

CountTessa · 04/11/2022 20:00

We all love a parking thread but only with obligatory drawing

That was quite amazing... I often wonder where they are now and how it all panned out.

SemperIdem · 04/11/2022 20:05

Dog threads and parent/blue badge parking threads are always big hitters too.

Under my one previous username I once had a lengthy thread about dog ownership that didn’t descend into an absolute shit show. I remain proud of that years later 😂

antiquisearchers · 04/11/2022 20:08

I find the property boundary dispute threads absolutely fascinating. I must have been a conveyancing lawyer in a previous life.

ChateauxNeufDePoop · 04/11/2022 20:52

I think, no matter which PoV they're written from, that "should I look after/drive/donate a kidney to my step child" threads get heated quick.

Zeebrugge was a MASSIVE troll!

Rowthe · 04/11/2022 21:59

The CF threads are the best.

Especially giving colleagues lifts or people taking the piss asking for childcare.

Rowthe · 04/11/2022 21:59

You know that was a made up story?

LolaSmiles · 04/11/2022 22:08

I enjoy the CF threads because there's always posters willing to get into huge whataboutery and will bring anything from potential armchair diagnosing of autism to dementia to excuse obvious cheeky fuckery

CountTessa · 04/11/2022 22:09

MissAmbrosia · 04/11/2022 21:57

Zeebrugge was a MASSIVE troll!

Noooooo!

CountTessa · 04/11/2022 22:11

I obviously have 'gullible' tattoted on my forehead.
Seriously, how did that get discovered not to be true.

MissAmbrosia · 04/11/2022 22:24

Not discovered as such, more that all the details -s-he gave were nonsense. At the time.

PS I am not implying that people post inheritance related things are trolls - it's the family dynamics and sometimes sheer CF that I find fascinating. It must be horrendous for those caught up in it.
