I bought something on the 5th September, it arrived on the 12th. Only it was wrong, I immediately opened an eBay issue thing and sent a message and got "Oops sent the wrong one, do you want to keep it and I'll give you some money back or send it back and I'll send the one you ordered." I said I'll return it but currier needs to collect as I was stuck at home with a poorly toddler. Currier never showed, it was booked but cheap currier that's bloody useless. So I had to carry big heavy item and toddler to post it myself.
All a pain but shit happens. Then cheap shit currier got the return stuck at the sorting office for a week. We agreed they'd probably lost it and he'd claim on the insurance and he'd send the thing I ordered. It was already over 3 weeks since I'd bought it at that point.
And then it just never came. I'd send messages asking if it had been posted and he's say its ready to go. Then he was in hospital for a week or two and his wife was dealing with it but same thing "it's going tomorrow," then no reply or tracking details.
The ebay thing got closed because it had been so long and I wasnt getting a reply so I opened a PayPal dispute. Then I got a message saying "it's being collected tomorrow but I can cancel it" I said "no I just want the item and I can close the dispute." No reply. No response in PayPal.
Today I finally got a PayPal refund.
He's now been sending messages all day because I put a negative review on and I should have expected delays because of the Royal mail strikes, but he hadn't even posted the bloody thing so how could it possibly be royal mails fault?
AIBU to think he thought I'd just accept the wrong item or give up chasing him and just let him keep my money? Because he seems to think I'm being very unfair and it's not his fault.
Granted I should have asked for a refund long ago but once you've waited 4 weeks it feels silly not to wait one more week and so on.
