purely because on the phone just now she said that my lo "isn't crawling yet because we put too many nappies on"

you should try it!

TotalChaos · 28/01/2008 20:22

wtf? YANBU. Does she think you layer nappies?

Habbibu · 28/01/2008 20:22

do you layer them?!!

nappymadmummy · 28/01/2008 20:24

No I don't layer them...would anyone do that?

OP posts:
Habbibu · 28/01/2008 20:29

...it was just the too many nappies - had visions of a little russian doll of nappies...

Sushipaws · 28/01/2008 20:31

Oh PLEASE PLEASE do.

Then come back here and tell us all about it.

I do love the advice we get from MIL's, they are priceless :0

Troutpout · 28/01/2008 20:32

What does she mean ?!..how odd!!

Nah..she's obviously tapped

FlameNFurter · 28/01/2008 21:01

DO IT!

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 28/01/2008 21:02

Words fail me

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2008 21:03

YA most certainly not BU.

pinkspottywellies · 28/01/2008 21:03

Yes do it!

cheshirekitty · 28/01/2008 21:04

Do not put nappy on, then sit your little one on mils lap!!!

Make sure she has had plenty of orange juice and prunes before you do it.

Mung · 28/01/2008 21:04

go on, go on.

choccypig · 28/01/2008 21:08

Yes, yes, yes.

Next time you are round there, try saying "I've been thinking about your suggestion. I'm sure you've got a point about nappies stopping her crawling" while whipping off the offending garment and placing DD on floor. MIL has then to eat words or suck up SH**

silly cow

WinkyWinkola · 28/01/2008 21:44

How old is LO?

Sparkletastic · 28/01/2008 21:47

Am hoping LO is old enough to bottom shuffle across MIL's carpet leaving a rich brown stripe behind her

lizziemun · 28/01/2008 22:46

Go on do it.

My MIL has a thing about her living room carpet . At christmas FIL spilt a cup of coffee and was told MIL that he should know that you need 10 teatowels to clean up the spill .

She getting knew carpet this week so we are not allowed food and drink in there, I don't know what am supposed to do with dd2 (20wks) when we go there as she is a sicky baby.

indiechick · 29/01/2008 10:32

People do layer nappies if baby has a dislocated hip following a breech birth.
But in this instance, put nappy on very badly, make sure baby has lots to drink and just sit back and let it drip all over (preferably white) carpets.
MIL's deserve all they get!

Nemoandthefishes · 29/01/2008 10:38

how do you put too many nappies on??? And how would that stop a baby crawling

My baby has started crawling within the last 2 weeks and he does indeed wear nappies🤔

Familydilemmas · 10/11/2022 20:37

It depends if you’d have to clean it up

Harrysnippleno3 · 10/11/2022 20:39

Child will be 14 now, probably a bit old to be shitting on Nanny's carpet
