AIBU to think that Town city centre car parks and signage in streets

I went to a nearby town/city (Bromley) where I often go shopping but decided to go to the shopping centre car park, mostly I go to the one just outside and walk which takes 5-10 minutes maximum. I go to Bromley as Bluewater is nice but too far and sometimes go to Kingston on Thames. Croydon is a complete and utter shithole do avoid like the plague especially Valley Park! Used to love Croydon.

Went with my mum, I was
driving, don’t know how she’d have coped if she was driving!

The road signs for the car park (Glades) were virtually nonexistent all through Bromley, we both commented on this, and though I’ve been there before (Glades part but mostly to drive past or with someone else) it was a while ago and I ended up driving round down the other end of Bromley and then turning round. Once in the shopping centre one of the lifts didn’t stop at all or only once so we’d never have got in, and we and others were advised to go to other lifts, again no signs, all wandering around like lost sheep. I’d like to go there after work for late night shopping but in that car park I’d be worried about my safety. Very dark and hardly any lighting.

(For info the car park I usually go to is next to magistrates courts…).

anyway AIBU to wish that if they want more shoppers in towns and cities surely they should rethink car parks/safety/road signs? Bromley can’t be the only town centre like this!

Feel free to share your own experiences! Thinking of trying Kingston next but been there before by car and I recall it’s easier… I mostly shop online/click and collect or in West End as I work up there.

Town centre shopping in many towns isnt very user friendly anymore and now there are out of town shopping centres and online shopping and nice market towns we all go elsewhere.
I live an hour away from a good shopping city centre (at least it was when I last went 4 years ago) and I never go because of the parking.
