Am I being too sensitive? Comment about my hair.

I had a bad hairdressing experience a couple of months and she cut off more hair than I wanted. My friend knew I hated it and when she first saw me she lifted my hair up and made a sucking in air sound.

I’ve since gone copper and I love it. Saw her today and she said again she can’t believe how short it is - I’d say it’s 3 inches below my shoulder, hardly a pixie cut or a bob. Just annoyed me that she said the colour was nice but had to follow it up with something she knows I’m conscious about.

Maybe I’m being too sensitive, I just don’t have much confidence.

Just tell her to shut up.

Just ignore her - sounds like a jellyfish - see Bridget Jones.

I'm going to sound all modern here but that's what you call "negging"

She's not a true friend. A true friend is supportive and would be saying things like "ahhhh your hair is growing back! Won't be took long" and suggesting products that could help such as hair, skin and nail tablets.

DONT LET HER GET TO YOU. It's the only reason why she's doing it and by the sounds of it it looks great just as it is ❤️

Thanks all, it was the first thing she said to me and it instantly just made me feel shit.

I do think it might be jealousy, not because she wants to look like me etc but because she wants me to remain the dowdy friend.

I'm sorry your lack of confidence is being made worse by having such a bitch as a friend. She's putting you down deliberately, which makes you feel worse and unsupported, and her confident and superior. That's not a friendship. Please minimise contact with her. 💐

It could very well be jealousy. So many women can't stand seeing others progress. You often see it with weight loss as well, I lost five and a half stone naturally 7 years ago and one friend said I changed. I did change, I finally felt comfortable in my own skin and that's okay!

Hold your head up high and swish that copper hair!

I lost around 5 stone too and there’s definite jealousy that happens with it. I got to 11 stone 10 (5 foot 5) and got told I too skinny. I definitely wasn’t.
