Gluten free food and IBS

Not an AIBU but just looking for opinions as I know there have been several IBS threads on here.

Both me and my friend have it. I can eat gluten and it doesn't cause me any problems. She's gone gluten free to see if it helps with hers.

I've been to hers three times for a meal since she started it and each time, mine has played up afterwards. Tonight we had gluten free pasta followed by a cake she'd made with gluten free flour. I've got cramps, I'm doing violent farts and I've had an urgent poo since I came home.

I know it sounds odd but can gluten free flour cause IBS symptoms? The gluten free is the only obvious change as I've eaten there loads before without any problems.

Gluten free pasta can be made of all sorts of things so quite possible that you could react to an ingredient - e.g. some gluten free pasta has quinoa in it

Xanthan gum. It's in loads of gluten free food.

It has the same effect on me.

Psyllium husk is another frequent culprit.

GF pasta is typically corn and rice, sometimes quinoa, the cake is probably the most likely cause.

Chickpea, pea and lentil flour are sometimes in the ingredients list, if they effect you.
