No car seats or seat belts

AIBU?

I constantly see a family drop and collect there child/children off for preschool and school each day in the car not using seat belts or any car seats for the 3/4 year old and a young baby on their lap in the front. I see them drive up, so I know they aren’t just sat there out of their car seats ( it’s 12.30 preschool drop off, as there are only 10 children that do afternoons. I see the parents more than normal school time)

I know it was NONE of my business how people parent but I just felt if anything happened that I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.

I felt like I had to let the preschool teacher know what I have been seeing everyday. The teacher was lovely and agreed that I did the right thing in telling her. Not sure if anything would or has actually be said. But for now Ive tried not to look after I mentioned it as I just felt really uncomfortable every time I saw them in the car.

I think I’ve done the right thing in not actually saying anything to the parents but another mum mentioned it to me as well and she thinks we should!? Maybe ask if they need help finding any car seats?

How old's the car?

It doesn't matter how old the car is. It's illegal to be sitting in the front seat holding a baby while it's being driven

Report them via online. Mention the reg plate and school, and where they usually park, and timings.

The whole point of seats and belts is to stop people dying.

If you've told the school then they should follow it up as a safeguarding issue. If you're still worried I'd ask the teacher if it was followed up on. She probably can't give you details but would be able to tell you yes or no and at least then you know its being dealt with so you can leave it alone.
