To feel so much better when the house is tidy

I’ve somehow managed to fit in a proper clean and tidy of my house, to the point where every room is practically spotless (except the bathroom, which is still manky - it’s the one room I haven’t got round to yet).

Since this has happened, my mind feels so much clearer, calmer and more positive. I love feeling organised and like I know where everything is. I also love being surrounded by calm and orderly spaces, as opposed to clutter, crumbs and dust everywhere like it was before.

Does anyone else feel similar and also, how can I make sure I maintain it this time? I don’t want to let it slide again.

Completely agree, OP! I can't properly relax unless my house is tidy and hoovered. DC is allergic to dust mites (triggers asthma attacks) so regular wet dusting and hoovering are required.
I loosely follow TOMM but play catch up at the weekend if we're having a busy week. The advantage of doing little and often is that you rarely have to do a deep clean and can miss out bits as needed.
I've not been well this week so the dining table is piled high with clean, folded laundry - I can't find the energy to take it upstairs. My only two tasks for tomorrow are to put it away and do another load...

Agree OP, wfh has made a difference. In the office when I have a bit of a lull, I go and have a drink, find someone to have a quick chat with, tidy a shelf in The stationery cupboard, maybe do a bit of general office sorting or tidying…
When I’m working at home and have a bit of a lull, I’ll unload the dishwasher, stick a wash load on, put some washing away etc, just little bits that keep things ticking over.

I’m the same OP. Clean house, clearer mind.
