Can anyone help me with bra sizing?

Obviously I should go and get a proper fitting, but just curious as to why my back measurement is 30 inch but a 32 bra feels like I can hardly breath?
Also a 34DD feels comfy but it's not flat to my chest in the middle between breasts, so I know it's not fitting properly.
Just tried bras in 32E but they are far too tight!

You probably need a bigger cups size which explains why the band is too tight.

Fritilleries · 26/10/2022 17:36

Try a 32F or 30F

Bikechic · 26/10/2022 17:47

Try bravissimo. They are brilliant

Alarae · 26/10/2022 18:19

If you have Reddit try out the Abrathatfits sub. They have a guide on how to measure yourself and a calculator. They can also recommend sizes based on your measurements.

KatharinaRosalie · 26/10/2022 18:26

try the bra back to front. if it is not as tight that way, you need bigger cups.

Fluffyunicorn1 · 26/10/2022 18:27

Google boob or bust measuring. It’s quite a good starting point. Put in the measurements it asks for and it will give you a bra size and that’s what you should start with.

to do a band test, fasten your bra at the front and pull out if you can pull out about an inch the band is fine. If it’s too tight when put on the right way the cup is too small and therefore you’re getting migrating breast tissue that’s causing the band to be too tight.

make sure shoulder straps only lift two fingers when pulled.

if you’re on Facebook you can join their group and they will help you. They’re a lovely community.

I find bra shopping a nightmare. I have a smaller waist but a larger cup and it’s awful finding the right ones.

I can definitely vouch for bravissimo. Me being top heavy and large breasted I always struggles to find bra which fits me well. You need to be properly measured for right cup size and bravissimo is great

Changingplace · 26/10/2022 18:33

Try curvy kate, they’ll do you an online fitting - honestly I thought it was bonkers but I went with it cos I needed new bras in lockdown & I swear on my life they’re the absolute best fitting bras I’ve ever had.

www.booborbust.com

This website and a good quality bra will change your life. Although, I have found that Asda bras in large cup sizes fit well too personally.

grey12 · 26/10/2022 18:38

Another vote for bravissimo. 😉 they can help check the fit.

grey12 · 26/10/2022 18:40

Once you know what exactly is a good fitting bra supposed to feel like, you could check other places. But it's good to be fitted by someone first.

Most women spend their lives wearing the wrong bra! It makes such a difference

Dacadactyl · 26/10/2022 18:49

Another vote here for Bravissimo. The bras are expensive but I wouldn't go anywhere else now for me and our daughter. They are fantastic.

MuddlingThrough1724 · 26/10/2022 18:58

Use the Boob or bust online calculator, I believe its the same method bravissimo use to measure and gives a great starting point to try.

blondiecurly · 26/10/2022 19:02

@Changingplace I stopped wearing bras in the lockdown 😀

Chocolatefrenzy · 26/10/2022 19:54

Wow, just used the calculator, all my bras are 36 DD but the calculator says I'm 32G!!!😯

Raveon2000 · 26/10/2022 20:09

I'm 30 back and 36 boob, I'm away to try the calculator!!

Come back and let us know!

honestly when you get the right size and right shape everything improves including your general posture.

girlfriend44 · 26/10/2022 20:40

All bras are different you need to get a measurement and try different ones on.

Raveon2000 · 26/10/2022 20:51

Went onto the bravissima live chat. She's suggested 32FF so ordered some bras to try!

Yarrawonga · 27/10/2022 16:21

Mine are an F cup and they aren’t very big at all. I have a small back.

ClumsyPickle · 27/10/2022 16:25

Not all 'D-cups' are created equal...

Can anyone help me with bra sizing?

So are you 32F?

OP posts:
tarmum · 27/10/2022 18:36

Totally agree with Bravissimo. They are the first proper fitting bras I’m found. Even still pretty with a F cup!

TimeForTeaAndG · 27/10/2022 18:41

I have your measurements, OP and most definitely a 30F/FF depending on style or a 32F in sports bra cos the elastic is less stretchy.
