Anyone had any side effect from this, I've just finished taking them and I'm so unsure if they made me really unwell, I've spoke to doctors telling me it'll be anxiety/UTI. My stomach hasn't been good, heart burn and all sorts. I have chest pains guessing due to anxiety as i have the worst health anxiety, I'm tired been shakey and all sorts not sure if its tablets or anxiety

I've had them regularly for chest infections. I've had an upset stomach on them, that's quite common. Chest pains certainly aren't a side effect.

I take them for UTIs, so I'd be surprised if you still have one asking taking it. It's quite broad spectrum and quite strong though so I think they're more difficult to tolerate than some.

Chest pain isn't bad! It's niggles here n there, over thinking more than likely caused it

I’ve had them for 4 years for a serious and very stubborn uti. No side effects at all. Nearly every other antibiotic causes rashes, nausea, headaches for me but the consultant said cefalexin is generally very well tolerated. As you’ve finished the course hopefully you’ll feel better if they didn’t particularly agree with you. They won’t have caused any damage . The main side effect is a dodgy stomach.

The first rule of health anxiety is don't Google. You're making this worse for yourself!

I'm allergic to cephalexin, it gives me anxiety and makes me physically sick. Trimetheprine does the same.

I did last year. I'd had 6 courses of nitrofurantoin and the UTI kept coming back. A consultant then put me on a months course of cefalexin. I do have an allergy to penicillin so I was worried about the side effects as the consultant told me it came under the penicillin family. I was sick the first time I took it, I made sure for the rest of the course I took it with food and it was fine.

It's probably not chest pain, but stomach pain. You might find taking a probiotic helpful after strong antibiotics. I had some I got from Holland and Barrett after taking metronidazole and felt a lot better for it.
