To temporarily store clothes, books etc in a garage?

I'm moving on Friday and can't store anything with the removals so it all needs to be out of the van the same day (have paid upfront so can't change company).

Monday I'm getting a company to do a deep clean and carpet clean. The whole house is carpeted except kitchen/bathroom/dining room/conservatory.

Obviously the clearer the house is the better the clean they can do especially on carpets.

If I try and store as much as possible in the garage will it be ok in there for a few days? Removals are packing so assume it will be in boxes or left in the big storage plastic bags I have.

The surveyor said we need to look at the garage as it's potentially damp. Long term we'd only store stuff that won't be damaged eg lawnmower.

I know normally you shouldn't put clothes, books etc in the garage because of mould and rodents, but will this be a problem for Friday to Tuesday?

YABU your stuff will get eaten and mouldy
YANBU your stuff will be ok for five or six days as mice give you a grace period

If storing in the garage is a silly idea then other suggestions welcome!

It'll be fine for a short while

It’s fine.
You might need to give the clothes a wash but it’s fine.
