To feel I can’t tell people how worried I am about energy.

Like many, I am really worried about the cost of living, in particular energy bills.

Now that support is being scaled back to April, I am really worried that we won’t qualify for further support because we work.

I have a disability and the cold really affects my pain and ability to get about but I am too scared to put the heating on because I am worried we can’t afford it.

Even though my disability changes my energy need, I think the fact that I am a teacher and that we are a ‘middle earner’ family will mean that we don’t get any further support come April.

The worry is eating me up and I can’t talk to friends about it because I feel I should feel fortunate to be in a stable job.

I think you're right, the coded message about "protecting the most vulnerable" translates as support for people on benefits and pensioners. Working people will not get much support if any. Possibly a price cap that's lower than the true cost, but not a huge amount lower.

Have you tried claiming any benefits for your disability? That would help you.

Don't forget from april it will be spring so less gas usage as less heating is needed so costs should be lower.use the heating now over winter as you know what you can afford.
