To expect the sheet to stay on the bed?

Have extra depth mattress as many are today.

I can't find a sheet that will stay on both sides.
Just bought a double one with depth of 28cm which is plenty big enough but when I wake up in the morning it's all hanging off one side grrrr.
Does anyone get their sheets to stay on all night.
Why does it say depth of 28 cms if its not.

Anyone got this problem? Wake up to find sheets are off at the top or one side?

I would buy king or extra king flat sheets

ScrambledSmegs · 16/10/2022 14:49

Used to have this problem, particularly on DH's side of the bed. In desperation I bought fitted sheets from one of those companies you see advertising on Facebook. Yes I know it could have been an expensive mistake but they work and I think they're lovely quality too.

And now I've forgotten the name of the company so will have to go and trawl my emails. Sorry!

These say extra depth it's weird. It's the depth on the beds these days.

Rise & Fall. That's the brand. Very nice sheets. DH no longer wakes us both up entangled in the bottom sheet which is a minor miracle.

Clarice99 · 16/10/2022 14:54

Dip and Doze fitted sheets are very generous/deep and do not come off the mattress.

I've just purchased some flannelette sheets from The Linen Cupboard. They look really generous/deep, but I haven't tested them yet.

RainbowsMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 15:00

I gave up. Constant toy buying them, then they ping off or the elastic starts to give in.

I get flat sheets now in the next size up. So much better!

RainbowsMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 15:00

Constantly*

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 16/10/2022 15:01

These are the ones I have and they never move around!

wendywoopywoo222 · 16/10/2022 15:01

Would also recommend the Marks and Spencer's extra deep. Never have any trouble with them.

M&S Extra Deep 15 inches.(38cm)

Midnights · 16/10/2022 15:13

I get mine from The Duvet Store - 50cm deep and they're fabulous!! Not the cheapest, but by far the best. They don't ride up at all, wash really well and are lovely and soft.

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/10/2022 15:13

I always use fitted sheets from Dorma and Sheridan and they've never moved. And that's with a deep mattress that has TWO mattress toppers on it as well as a padded mattress protector. I'm 5'9 and have to climb UP on to the bed lol.

Sheet holders

To expect the sheet to stay on the bed?
Smilelesstalkmore · 16/10/2022 15:16

Following. We use sheet holders now, but I would still just prefer a sheet that fitted!

paintitallover · 16/10/2022 15:18

John Lewis for mine

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/10/2022 15:19

Try dunelm

Mossstitch · 16/10/2022 15:27

I just got a king sized fitted but for double mattress as fed up of trying to stretch sheet to fit for it to ping back off the corners🙄

RiderOfTheBlue · 16/10/2022 15:32

Another vote for the M&S extra deep fitted sheets.

Yabado · 16/10/2022 15:33

You need to buy 40 cm depth bed sheets sheets

standard 28’-32 depth won’t fit on a standard depth bed

I have a waterbed 😂 so irs very deep on the sides
40cm are the ones that I buy from Amazon for about £15

onmywayamarillo · 16/10/2022 15:35

Yes for the marks and Spencer's sheets and white company too. I Have a thick mattress and and double topper! Don't ping off

PrioritiseCalm · 16/10/2022 15:44

We have those sheet suspender things

Roselilly36 · 16/10/2022 15:45

Have you tried jersey sheets? I find they stay on the bed.
