AIBU?
How do I find out what a Google play payment of £79.99 is for?
coodawoodashooda · 14/10/2022 20:42
It's an unexpected pending payment. £79.99 is a lot for me. I can't imagine not agreeing to it without realising.

Click on your profile picture in Play Store. There's a menu 'payments and subscriptions'. In that menu, tap 'budget and history'.

If you go into the Google play store, can you see if you've got any subscriptions active? It sounds like an annual subscription fee after a trail period maybe?

It would be worth contacting your bank to see if they can shed some light on the payment (they may be able to cancel it too). I had a horrible experience once where my mobile phone company charged me £300 instead of my usual monthly phone contract charge - which is much lower! It turned out I’d been scammed. My bank were amazing and refunded me straightaway. The phone company, not so much - they were quite slow to act and didn’t even apologise!
Also try contacting Google Play directly here - support.google.com/googleplay/gethelp.
Good luck!

SpottyStripyDuvet · 14/10/2022 20:50
Not sure but the is the usual annual payment for Amazon Prime. Could it be that auto renewing?

@coodawoodashooda
my Microsoft 365 renewed today and was exactly £79.99
could this be your charge too?
Theopossumwasmeantforme · 14/10/2022 22:09
Google one maybe? I'm sure one of the plans is £79.99.

Thank you. I'm really stupid with technology and that was helpful. It was Disney. Annoying but at least I found out. I'll make a note for next year
woodpecker2 · 15/10/2022 08:57
stop or block it renewing now at least for next year. I would try and block it for this year if you didn’t mean to renew it.
Lougle · 15/10/2022 09:33
You could contact them and ask for a refund if you haven't used it since they billed you.

They have a live chat and will resolve this issue for you on there. Always found them helpful
