Marc Bolan…can’t separate the art from the artist

I have a thread in chat but didn’t name the ‘artist’ but thought people should be aware.
I’ve loved TRex for decades and had crush on Marc Bolan and thought he was so sexy. Watching 1971 on Apple TV and tried so hard to think it was of the times but no, he was a young adolescent predator.
Am I being unreasonable?

I thought ok, ok, of his time, I’ll still love his music but the film shows him kissing young girls on camera and I presumed the rest (not a stretch from his gleefulness)

He’s always been a difficult person to like. Rumoured to be very mean with money, fell out with people a lot and famously left affairs so complicated his own son has had to fight for years to get any access to his inheritance.

Everyone of them, including Bowie and the stones were having sex with young teens. Chrissy Hynde defends them. We'd have to cancel everyone if we looked at them in regards to underage girl fans, starting with Elvis.

Well you will have to resign yourself to having very, very few famous artists, classical musicians, writers and historical figures to admire if you want them to align with your morals. Let alone pop stars and actors from the 20th Century.
There comes a point where you just have to enjoy the art.

Well how old were the girls in question? Big difference between 14 and 17yrs esp if he was 20yrs old.

If I find out someone has had sex with someone underage then I won't be interested in their work again. There's about a squillion songs and movies and God knows what else out there to constantly entertain us so why waste my time on those degenerates?

well I don’t fully know how to give you proof. I loved TRex until I saw this footage on Apple TV. Maybe it’s on YouTube but I’m not in a court of law to prove it to you?!
