Phone GP for Dd constant non cough coughing

I don’t even think the GP receptionist will request a call back from a GP(if I manage to get through in the morning) but its a baffling cough -
the past week she seems to have this constant little dry cough and sniff that doesn’t seem to do anything - it’s partly driving me nuts and partly worrying me now,
its not after exercise, no temp, no illness although she did have a bad cold a few weeks ago that gave her a sore throat and chesty cough but that has cleared

it’s just constant and drinking more doesn’t seem to stop it, just constant cough sniff cough sniff

any one know what it could be? Or am I not being ridiculous by calling the doctor for a cough that isn’t actually bothering her

Experiment whether it goes away after you give her piriton. It sounds just like a nasal drip. It’s going down the back of her throat hence the cough and sniff

Was going to suggest nasal drip too

NellBeau · 11/10/2022 20:20

Yeah, I was gonna say nasal drip too, she could have seasonal rhinitis - it’s a common time of year for it. Try an antihistamine,

Ah thank you so much, I didn’t even think of this - I will try Piriton tomorrow which will be much faster than trying to get through to the doctor

Bathroom steam. Shut all the doors and vicks on her feet.
