Since reading a thread on here, about mirrors, pictures etc falling off the wall above beds, I have been thinking I am going to die in the night when this very heavy, carved piece of wood falls off of the wall....
(picture attached)
(light hearted over dramatic as I feel crap)

Especially as last night, a guitar which has been happily bracketed to the wall (in another room) for nearly 3 years decided to set itself free, bracket and all!!!

Now thinking it's going to land on my foot!

Definitely getting DH to remove it in the morning!

(we both currently have Covid, so are in separate beds, in the hope of getting some sleep.... this isn't helping)

Do people have heavy things on the wall over their bed?

to have moved to the other end of the bed.....

@phishy my DH had this from his previous life... if you zoom in, it is rather odd!

We did have pictures, but multiple instances of them falling off and I gave up. I've hung some of my embroidery up there now instead. At least if it falls off it doesn't hurt!

Oh I had literally never considered the possibility of the picture above our bed crashing down on me whilst sleeping.

the pointy corner bit is right above my eye now as I type and is starting to unnerve me…..

My cat sleeps on the window above my bed. One night she had a massive freak out and nearly gauged my eye out. Colleague thought I was experiencing some form of domestic violence.

When my DD was young we had a set of wall mounted shelves above her bed that had her books and nick nacks on. One evening she woke up and came downstairs asking for a drink. Whilst she was downstairs we heard an almighty crash and the shelves had come out of the wall. The shelves and all their contents landed right on the bed where DD had been minutes before.

Ever since then we have not had anything heavy above any beds!

Blimey, how heavy is it that you can't just whip it off the wall now?

I have cupboards around my bed. As in two tall ones either side that then go over the top. My cupboard ia full of jewellery, bags, lotions and potions. I think DH has tools in his. So we are in for trouble if one of those gives in!

@CheezePleeze insanely heavy!

Plus I can't walk at the moment, due to having my big toe fused 2 weeks ago...

Would end in disaster if I tried to do it...

Why do you have a coffin lid hanging your bedroom?

Used to have shelves and units and all sorts but between sleeping kids/ jumping on beds there were too many times they nearly took an eye out on a corner so no, not anymore!

A bookshelf once came off the wall and whacked me in the face while I was sleeping. Gave me a proper black eye.

In retrospect it was bloody stupid to put a bookshelf up there.

What is that thing? My eyes aren't the best, does it have an inscription?

@ViolinPin it's carved with what looks like tribal people, in various sexual positions 🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe this is the perfect excuse to get that off your wall and replace it with a nice light piece of art 😂
