My friends say I’m Sexist

I called a big group of friends ‘guys’ and all my gang say I can’t say that. Apparently it’s sexist. AIBU to think they are super sensitive!

I don't think you're being sexist in your usage. I use guys and lads as informal terms for groups of people, regardless of their sex, including female only groups.

However, it's useful to consider why those terms to refer to general groups of people are male - no one ever uses girls or ladies to refer to a mixed sex or solely male group. Why is it an insult to use female terms for men but not vice versa?
