Help with period day 1! IVF related

Posting for traffic - has anyone monitored their period for IVF and can explain the difference between spotting/light bleeding and 'day 1'?

I have asked my clinic and they've said day 1 is 'full flow', but I am more than spotting but not really full flow. Probably overthinking, but if anyone has experience of the best way of ensuring I know the accurate day 1 it would be greatly appreciated!! I am starting to panic thinking I might miss day 1!

@Plmoknijb123 I’ve been told day 1 is when you have a full fresh red bleed. Does that help at all? If you spotted today, then perhaps tomorrow would be your full bleed?

Agree with above. First day bright red and no doubts that it had arrived. Unless flow developed later this eve, I would say tomorrow.

Good luck with your IVF. The worry happens at every little stage but I'm sure you are in good hands

Red blood and more than just a bit of pink smudge on your knickers or tissue. Like if you didn't wear a pad your knickers would be wet.

I was told it only counts if it’s before 6pm, otherwise you take the next day. Just in case nothing much happened before that time.

My clinic told me that day one is when you wake up with a proper flow. They said it didn’t matter if it started at noon on Thursday or 5am on Friday, Friday would count as day one. No idea if other places said the same!

Thank you everyone! Much appreciated, I think tomorrow will be my day 1

I think clinics give times based on their ability to book you in for a scan on day 2 or 3. My clinic say if full bleed happens after 12pm, then you consider day 1 to be the next day

Day 1 is full red bleed before 12pm. Good luck
