WIBU to watch the second half of Inside Man?

Yes, sorry, not a real AIBU, but I want to know whether it's worth two hours of my time to watch episodes 3 and 4, and the easiest way to do that without reading any spoilers is to get a vote.

If you've watched it, can you please vote as follows.

YANBU: Yes it's worth watching the end, the resolution is managed in a satisfying way and it's twisty-turny and clever.
YABU: Don't bother, I genuinely wish I hadn't stuck with it, it's got really annoying plot holes/a non-ending/likeable characters suffer extremely distressing fates.

Did you enjoy the first 2? Then watch it, if not, dont bother?

I dont know what it is

I googled so you can see without spoilers (hope i dont give anything away by accident)

Inside Man viewers extremely divided over major twist ending

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the mysterious ending, with some left a little underwhelmed. One person wrote: "Not too sure how I felt about the ending to #InsideMan. It was a good series but the ending, to me, was a little underwhelming," while another added: "Sat through four episodes of nonsensical plot just to see how it ended and... that was underwhelming #InsideMan."
Others couldn't help but feel slightly confused by the final instalment, with one viewer tweeting: "The ending of #Insideman was so confusing and unneeded," while another added: "I don't have a clue what the ending was all about."

A second fan added: "Just finished watching #InsideMan with #DavidTennant #StanleyTucci totally brilliant the whole cast were fantastic and OMG please let there be a second series. Best programme I have watched in ages, gripping such a plot and what an ending. Thank you," while another added: "#InsideMan was brilliant. Possibly the best thing Steven Moffat has done. Wondered how they could wrap it up. And that was a beautifully gift-wrapped ending."

Gave up after the first here, got daft very quickly. Surprised, with such a good cast.

Interestingmauve · 05/10/2022 10:22

I've only watched the first half of episode 1 (a "crisis" with DS1 interrupted me). She's currently lying at the bottom of the stairs and it's already seemingly a bit far fetched, but I do love David Tennant and I'm watching it in the first place because it came highly recommended by two different colleagues.

IaltagDhubh · 05/10/2022 10:26

I finished the last episode this morning and I’m still furious that I wasted four bloody hours of my life on that utter pile of codswallop.

On the plus side, I watched it on the treadmill and the rage alone must have burnt twice as many calories.

HappyHamsters · 05/10/2022 10:32

I switched off mid 3, but am curious what the ending will be but it was a ridiculous series. I do like the actors in it and found some of the death row dialogue quite entertaining and clever.

bilbodog · 05/10/2022 10:44

Well i loved it - a bit strange and quirky and funny in places - will happily watch it again.

Interestingmauve · 05/10/2022 10:45

I need to know what the sum in money I the first conversation was about. Do we get a sensible answer to that?

Oldh · 05/10/2022 10:53

I was undecided whether to watch also. In the end watched last 2 back to back whilst googling and looking at mn. It was as weird as the first two, so more of the same. Stanley tucci is brill though. Won't spoil the end as tbh can't even remember what happened 😀

EvilRingahBitch · 05/10/2022 18:30

Nicely poised I see. Bumping for more votes.

Jesus it's absolutely awful. Total tosh. Don't bother!

BetsyBigNose · 05/10/2022 23:11

If you've already watched 2, then I would watch the rest, otherwise I'd feel I'd wasted my time! I found it incredibly frustrating to watch, I kept thinking "Just put your hands up now and tell someone what's happened and stop it getting any worse!", but it just keeps tumbling on and on... Still, the acting is mostly good and the script has some funny moments. As a PP said, you could watch it while doing other things and you'd get the gist.

Unicorn2022 · 05/10/2022 23:26

Absolutely awful with a stupid ending, just to keep it open for a second series. I liked Stanley Tucci's character but everything else was riciculous. Annoyed I wasted four hours on it.

Handsoffmyrights · 05/10/2022 23:30

I watched the final two tonight and regretted it. I will never get those two hours back.

We get an answer but it's completely daft

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/10/2022 23:37

I don't like David Tennant so avoid most things with him in yet quite enjoyed this so I would say watch it. You do have to suspend disbelief though

Having said that I absolutely hate "Am I Being Unreasonable" which most on here seemed to love so what do I know? Grin

I didn't understand the ending and still don't know who's the two storylines were connected.

Unicorn2022 · 06/10/2022 11:49

@redbigbananafeet Stanley Tucci pretended to give his father in law the address where he had hidden his wife's head but instead gave him the address of where Janice was being held hostage, so they would find her and save her, and we could all be treated to a season 2.

Would someone with that level of genius really be put on death row? They would surely get him working for the government or secret services.

orangeisthenewpuce · 06/10/2022 14:16

I loved this. It kept me watching all the way through which is rare these days.

isthismylifenow · 27/11/2022 18:18

I'm a bit late to this, but watched the whole thing today...

I have so many questions....

But who was Janice's husband that she wanted killing. She wasn't married. Was she talking about the Vicar?

Bloody hell, with that cast I was expecting something half decent, but I'm quite annoyed right now.

ShinyMe · 27/11/2022 18:24

I really wanted to like it. Such a good cast. But what a load of old cobblers. I watched it all in the hope it would get better, but it didn't. I did laugh at lots of the last episode though, because from what happened, I assumed they were playing it for laughs.

isthismylifenow · 27/11/2022 18:33

It was just bizarre.

But who was Janice's husband? I don't understand that part, unless I missed something crucial along the way. I thought she said she was not married during one of the earlier episodes.
