Just that really. Got flu/covid with horrendous nausea for two days now. How long did it last with you?

One day

dirtyasadustpanlid · 03/10/2022 15:41

A full week I’m afraid. On the plus side I lost 8 pounds 😂

Remainiac · 03/10/2022 15:42

Around a week.

Barnowl25 · 03/10/2022 15:45

Ugh. Did anything help to ease it? I am drinking a lot of water. Tried ginger biscuits but they didn't work.

Did you actually vomit?

Just tested negative after 10 days positive. Gastro symptoms and naduea were horrible. Nausea lasted about 8 days. Wasn't actually sick.

dirtyasadustpanlid · 03/10/2022 15:51

No vomiting, would have been some relief if there was.

Barnowl25 · 03/10/2022 15:57

I have a,stonking headache and am really cold. But the nausea is truly horrendous. Feeling very sorry for myself.

I had a migraine with vomiting for a day. After that it was just cold like symptoms.

SerenaTee · 04/10/2022 05:57

Around a week I’m afraid, wasn’t ever sick though. It reminded me of morning sickness in pregnancy, keeping well hydrated helped a bit.

beenrumbled · 04/10/2022 06:01

Vomiting lasted 2 days, nausea 8 days - couldn't eat much at all.

Barnowl25 · 04/10/2022 09:53

Nausea is easing. Now I just feel totally crap. Sleeping most of the time. Hope everyone is feeling better/fully recovered.

Felt sick as a dog for 9 days. Blurgh.

gyarados · 04/10/2022 10:00

ginger tea works a treat for nausea or a sea sickness tablet

Hi - I am so glad to find this thread as I have had horrible nausea (something I never get) and tummy problems, as well as strange sneezing, chills sometimes and fatigue - sometimes extreme - for nearly a month. I tested negative for covid. Is this a "known" bug that is going round. I was beginning to worry I had a liver problem or something else. Has anyone been to the doctor about these symptoms ? I am reluctant to approach GP as I know how stretched they are and keep thinking this "bug" will go away. Anyone who has experience and knowledge of this would be welcome to comment ! Many thanks.

Barnowl25 · 22/10/2022 19:04

I am still exhausted all the time. Also still got gastro issues. It's all a bit crap really.

I had really bad vomiting and nausea with covid recently but I'm also pregnant so it was hard to tell one from the other! I had about a week where it was 'worse' which I put down to covid. Literally vomiting constantly as opposed to just once a day with the pregnancy, joy! Glad to hear other people have had sickness though, I felt like it was a weird symptom, didn't have anything else.

Holly30d · 23/10/2022 11:32

Just to say, my nausea & other covidy symptoms are wearing off after 5 weeks. I went to docs & had tests for liver, fbc etc & all clear. Think it must have been covid. Do you? I had migrainous headaches, very bad nausea, extreme fatigue, sneezing and phlem & slight chills. Interested to know your thoughts? Tested negative however!

Choconuttolata · 23/10/2022 11:41

Flu - 3 days last time I had it bad as an adult. Previous bad flu as a child age 10 about 2 weeks, GP had to give me an antiemetic injection in my behind and I was so weak my mum had to carry me up and down the stairs.

COVID -

Vomiting with severe abdominal pain 2 days.

Nausea, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort every day for 8 weeks.

Nausea in total 4 months, but I also had vertigo which impacted the duration of this.

Holly30d · 23/10/2022 14:45

VERY interesting - poor you. Nausea is awful. Did you test positive all the time? Makes me think I DID have covid. Thanks for posting!

Choconuttolata · 24/10/2022 21:42

This was pre use of LFT tests for diagnosis and returning to work, PCR only then isolate for 10 days. I was still unwell at day 10 and still symptomatic until week 3 anyway so no idea. I also had sneezing and then loss of smell as one of my first symptoms. The crushing fatigue and those migrainous headaches came later in my infection around day 6. Your symptoms sound very much like Omicron symptoms Holly.

x2boys · 24/10/2022 21:58

I haven't tested ,but I have had nausea for a few days ,and then had a chesty for about five days ,have Been around people who have tested positive so think it's covid ,I m coming out the other end now after about a week and a half .

x2boys · 24/10/2022 21:59

Chesty cough*

Alexandra2001 · 24/10/2022 22:02

About 2 weeks of occasional nausea, the only think that helped was eating, so i put on weight lol!
What was weird was the nausea started after i tested negative.

Still got fatigue but its easing.

Lovesabadboy · 24/10/2022 23:18

@Alexandra2001
I was the same - feeling nauseous after I had tested negative. In fact, that is when the headaches kicked in too. whereas my DH (who tested positive one day before me) had the headaches immediately.
And, like you, the only way to quell the nausea was by eating.
The nausea lasted about 4 days with me.

Holly30d · 25/10/2022 10:07

Thanks all for comments on symptoms. I am thinking of getting an antigen test to see if my antibodies indicate I HAVE had covid. Anyone done this ?
