AIBU?
To ask what to get DD 9.5 for Christmas
Rentaroom33 · 02/10/2022 09:10
Just that really posting here for traffic.
I’m looking for MAIN gift ideas mostly she like arts n crafts, music games etc, she is a fairly typical girl but was never into dolls, barbies etc
An iPod would have been fab but they are redundant now, and I’m NOT getting her a phone.
Am I being unreasonable?

@TenThousandSpoons ooh that COULD be an option!! She shares a room with her brother at the moment though so that might not work in a sense. But when she gets her own space then that would be great!!
@InDubiousBattle she has a switch that she shares with her brother

I have a 9 year old that sounds like yours !
big hits for her if you haven’t already got them are -
alexa
karoke machine
any kind of stationary / arts & crafts
Tom gates books
board games - faves are uno, chess, frustration
squishvilles
beanbag
disco light
LED lights for bedroom - these are fab !
for Christmas she is getting an arts & crafts hamper , squishville, stuff for her bedroom , journal , slime ( it’s been banned for 4 years after an incident 😵💫), jewelry making kit
they seem to love things for their room at this age !

My DD will be same age . She's asked for a paddle board for Xmas which we'll be getting . I'm relieved it's not a gadget .
She had an oculus for her birthday and it's been well used . She plays she appropriate games .
Mine also loves arts , crafts and drawing . We're going to get her some how to draw books . Like how to draw anime , kawaii, chibi etc
She's also asked for Squishmallows and clothes .
DD got an Oodie ( she's got a Kuddly though rather than an oodie, cheaper and better) last Xmas and it's been her most used present she's ever had .

@ExplodingCarrots my dd 9 loves her oodie too! She’s worn it nearly every day since last Christmas- apart from a few weeks over the summer ! It was something I wasn’t going to get last year as thought novelty would wear off but glad we got it!

I think wireless headphones work with Alexa so could get some as well
OoooohMatron · 02/10/2022 13:55
@Givemeallthegin8 I love the idea of an arts and crafts hamper, I'm stealing this!

Alexa or Google Home
A desk with lovely stationery in every drawer - washi tape, animal paper clips, pens etc etc
Raidtheice · 02/10/2022 14:01
Agree with Alexa and perhaps a switch of her own? What about a Kindle if she likes reading?
Quite sad that no one is suggesting a bike, scooter or hoverboard for your DD when these would probably be the default for a boy.
Sheepwalker · 02/10/2022 14:22
Decathlon do a lovely soft archery set. Also an electronics dartboard. DD is after a stunt scooter. Roller blades were a hit last year.

A kit set nook ( look on Etsy). Some are too complicated and expensive but simpler ones are great and have instruction videos on YouTube .
