Called Talk Talk re requesting a PAC code. Overseas Call Centre and the call went like this...

Can I take your name please?

Sarah (not my name)

Hello Sarah, that's a lovely name, you must be so proud of it. And can I take your date of birth?

Thank you, what a nice date of birth that is

He then congratulated me on what a special address I have (I really don't!)

He was very nice and polite but I do hope he was bigging up his part and didn't have to go through that on every call,

😁😂

Some manager will have told him to work on building rapport.

I love talk talk customer services, always get some really random comments or over the top thanks for replying to something they’ve asked

i think things get lost in translation sometimes

I find at times, Call Centre staff are far too polite like sugary sweet 😳

I feel it is put on and annoys me no end but that is me

And is there anything else I can help you with today?

They never want to come and do the ironing.

I asked the last one if they were all back in the office. Week home and week in the office apparently.

When all you do is talk to people about the same things every single day sometimes it's nice to change it up a bit. I had a call with a lovely older woman the other week just as I finished up my shift. I ended up on the call over an hour just chatting to her about life. I think we both needed it.

I think it's weird when people compliment you on your name. I always go 'Thanks, but it's nothing to do with me. I didn't pick it.' Maybe I'm being miserable.

I once called my mobile phone providers call centre, I think it might be in India, they were trying to upsell the mobile phone deals (you could give a phone contract to a friend or a neighbour 😂type thing) and there’d been a new water resistant phone come on the market - and the guy told me he had “many, many customers who go to many, many pool parties and have taken this phone deal”. Of course you have, in England, yeah? 😂😂😂

Funny man.
