to line tray with foil for toad in the hole?

Our TITH tray is sadly peeling.

Will it work OK if I line it with foil to prevent ingestion of peeled/rusty metal?

Should work just fine just make sure you lightly oil the tin foil to stop the batter sticking. Enjoy!

You can get non stick tin foil. I get it from Home Bargains. I line my tins with it all the time just to make washing up easier.

I tried lining the tin with foil first time I ever made Toad in the Hole (on the recommendation of an auntie) and even though I greased it thoroughly, the whole thing stuck and was essentially inedible. I haven't tried since 😳
