Do you find the evenings seem longer when it's dark earlier?

Yes and it's wonderful 😊

mountainsunsets · 26/09/2022 20:43

Yep, thank God! I feel like I have a chance to relax after work in autumn/winter :)

Butterlover1 · 26/09/2022 20:43

Feel shorter because I'm usually dozing off on the sofa by 830 thanks to the darkness.

Not like this in the summer where I rarely feel sleepy until well after 10

Roll on April and the spring

NotaCoolMum · 26/09/2022 20:44

Yes and it’s FABULOUS!! X

SoupDragon · 26/09/2022 20:44

Yes. It's totally miserable.

ellieboolou · 26/09/2022 20:47

Yes and I love it! Even better when end of October comes and it's dark by 4.30,this is my time of year.

You beat me to it! That’s exactly my response.

Bloody love it. I’m in my happy, relaxed place now. I hated summer’s endless, too bright, too peoplely days. This is heaven

Haha you and me both

RoseMartha · 26/09/2022 21:16

Not really because I am still rushing round until the same time every night.

I'm so glad it's not just me that can't stay awake for the dark nights

summergone · 26/09/2022 21:18

I hate it , miss being on the park with the kids til 8pm ,miss sitting out in the garden . Hate the cold and dark 😩

AnyFucker · 26/09/2022 21:20

I like the dark evenings

Not from 4pm, but from about 6pm is a nice demarcation between busy day and relaxed evening. When it is light until nearly 11pm it just doesn’t feel like downtime at all

TimeToGoUpAGear · 26/09/2022 21:34

This thread is a revelation to me. I never knew there were people who liked long dark evenings as I always think of it as the day being over whilst I'm still working.

I think I have to reframe it in my own mind!

Same. Roll on the spring time 🌞

Autumnwinterspringsummer · 26/09/2022 21:39

Makes the evenings shorter and I love it.
I love dark evenings, being cosy, having decorative lights and going to bed early.

Rosebel · 26/09/2022 21:41

No. I still get home at the same time. I still rush round trying to get things done in the evening. Feels the same all year round.

roundtable · 26/09/2022 21:43

I hate driving to work in the dark and driving from work in the dark. Depressing.

I'd be curious to see how many people who love it have a commute?

Pootle40 · 26/09/2022 21:44

It's ok just now but AWFUL once it gets dark before dinner ☹️

mydogisthebest · 27/09/2022 10:56

I would like to live somewhere it is light all the time. I had a holiday in Sweden a couple of years ago and loved that it never got properly dark.

Darkness makes me feel sluggish and tired. In the summer I am up by 7am if not before whereas in the winter I struggle to get out of bed by 8.30.

I find it so depressing. Not particularly bothered about the cold but the dark is awful. and so depressing

HairyMothballs · 27/09/2022 10:57

Yes and I hate it

Blocked · 27/09/2022 10:57

No for me they feel much longer when it's sunny and me and the kids can spend evenings out in the park or swimming outdoors.
