There's a male celeb who has been in hollyoaks/many reality tv shows.
Clearly plenty of money judging by his insta etc
Yet here he is sharing a just giving page asking his followers to raise £2,000 to help his friend who has been diagnosed with cancer(to pay his bills whilst unable to work)

Aibu to think it's a bit cheeky considering £2,000 will be nothing to him ,he is in position to help his friend out himself...yet here he is asking his followers who the majority will have less than him

You don't know how much he has given, or how much he has.

There's also a massive difference between a whole load of people giving a couple of quid and one person giving a couple of grand.

Hes just sharing his friends page to get it some attention, not cheeky at all, he's helping his friend.

So many of these ‘celebs’ do not have anywhere near the money you think they do, trust me.

you can’t judge his financial situation off his Instagram! I doubt hollyoaks and reality tv makes anyone particularly rich.

If people don't want to donate, they don't have to. He's not forcing people who have "a lot less than him" to give anything, just posting it for those who might want to.

I don't know which actor you're talking about here but you know nothing of his financial situation. £2k may be more than he comfortably afford. He's maybe already given his friend a lot to help with bills/medical treatment/other stuff.

Or maybe he simply knows people will donate if he shares it - either way, it's a choice

Of course people don’t have to donate but it’s still crass IMO, a lot of people are struggling and someone perceived to be well off asking for money does not sit well, although it is for a good cause.
