I mean really....

.....does it take much to press return on your keyboard?

Please, please, please just press return and I am sure more people will respond! These long posts are a pain to read without paragraphs.

It hurts my eyes!

I'm with you calzone.

I get a headache just looking at them. I try to read them and then keep going over the same sentance and not really taking anything in.

Niecie · 24/01/2008 18:53

How long is long?

I am very capable of rambling but I do make paragraphs eventually.

I know what you mean though - some do a whole screenful with no break in at all and I tend to either give up or not read the post properly and miss the point. Those sort of post do tend to be devoid of punctuation too which exacerbates the situation.

No YANBU

NYANBU

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 24/01/2008 18:55

I must admit to the same

And those without punctuation.

Or text speak.

FAQ · 24/01/2008 18:55

ok b*gger I bet I'm the major culprit aren't I? I do write horrendously long paragraphs as I tend to go off in a tangent in the middle - and then finish my starting sentence at the end

calzone · 24/01/2008 18:56

I would just like to read posts with paragraphs and as soon as I see a long paragraph (without punctuation!) I just can't be bothered.

I click off the thread and find something easier to read.

YANBU - I give up on the long endless paragraphs, especially ones with no punctuation or capital letters.

Desiderata · 24/01/2008 18:57

The image of Vikki Pollard just pops into my head whenever someone does that.

flowerybeanbag · 24/01/2008 18:59

YANBU, I'm far more likely to click off the thread if there is a huge long paragraph OP with no punctuation.

FAQ · 24/01/2008 19:01

well at least this thread explains why so many of my threads go unnoticed/very few posters

flowerybeanbag · 24/01/2008 19:02

I posted for you on a thread FAQ

Can't remember if that one was a long waffle though

FAQ · 24/01/2008 19:03

yes I know you did - no think that one was quite a short one.........and someone else (Karen999 think it was) directed you to it LOL.

I don't bother reading them. I can't be bothered to decipher rambling blocks of text without any punctuation.

flowerybeanbag · 24/01/2008 19:05

That is true. However I like to think that if a long waffle is posted in Employment or Going Back to Work I will make the effort where I otherwise wouldn't.

DarthVader · 24/01/2008 19:06

Ditto here, PurlyQueen

PuppyMonkey · 24/01/2008 19:09

And anyway, do u ever wonder how people have time to write a huge long post on MN while they're in the middle of a nervous breakdown and/or other terrible crisis? Talk about multi tasking!

calzone · 24/01/2008 21:51

LOL Puppy! I do wonder that.... A LOT!!!!

Just punctuate properly and leave lots of spaces and we will all reply!
