To ask why my contact lens keeps going blurry in just one eye?

I wear daily contacts but recently one of the lenses keeps going blurry, always in the same eye. If I replace with a new one it's fine again so must be something getting on it.
But what?
Could be mascara but why just the one same eye? And today I'm not wearing makeup and the same thing is happening.
If anyone has had the same issue and worked it out please tell me!

When was your last eye check?

abovedecknotbelow · 23/09/2022 09:37

Is it inside out?

GreenIsle · 23/09/2022 09:37

Mines does this when my eye is dry which can be a problem with longer term contact lenses use. Try an eye drop

Namechanger355 · 23/09/2022 09:38

Same for me in one eye - it was dry eyes and I use a drop for that eye

Foreveranxious22 · 23/09/2022 09:38

Im a long time contact lens wearing and I get this too. Always my right eye. I do wear monthlies tho. I had a contact lens check at spec savers a couple of weeks ago and they said everything was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️. I went in a couple of years ago as I was getting headaches and they gave me eye drops as my eyes were very dry, maybe linked to dry eyes then?

Is it a toric lens (to correct astigmatism)? If so it could be that it’s rotating.

Or maybe that eye is dry?

Suzi888 · 23/09/2022 09:40

Is it a fingerprint?
What age bracket are you? Last time I went I was told that you get ‘drier’ as you get older 😳😂 I had a runny eye so my lens would blur and slip out. Old age doth not come alone lol

I have this too and was told it was due to protein in my eye? Drops sorted it, the ones you can use with the lenses in.

Cinnamonandcoal · 23/09/2022 09:41

Right sounds like eye drops are the first thing to try, I hadn't even thought of that. Will buy today.
Thanks so much.

I have an expensive monthly subscription so all these extra lenses are adding up, and I just don't find wearing glasses comfortable.

I would go and get your optician to have a look and get their advice before you start drops, though, as everyone here can only guess!

xogossipgirlxo · 23/09/2022 09:47

Yep, I also see blurry image when my eyes are dry.

Another vote for eye drops here.
I put drops in when I put mine in in the morning and once in the afternoon. They make such a difference comfort wise & clear all that cloudy eye stuff to the corner where I can remove it.
