Bedtime perfume … it’s a thing right?

So in conversation with a friend I told her I was nearly out of bedtime perfume. And she looks at me like I have two heads 🤔

so basically I have an expensive perfume I wear in the day, and a cheaper Avon one to wear to bed. My reasoning is I like to smell good for my boyfriend when I get into bed, so I shower, apply my face creams, body lotion, and then a quick spritz of bedtime perfume. So tell me I’m not crazy here? Bedtime perfume is totally a thing right?

Note - this friend thinks bedtime perfume is crazy, but thinks it’s totally normal her dad has never seen her mum without a full face of makeup ( they have been married 30+ years and I’m convinced her mum is actually a stepford wife 🤣)

I’ve never heard of this before! It’s not a thing for me..

DPotter · 23/09/2022 03:36

It's not a thing

Thursa · 23/09/2022 03:38

Not a thing.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 23/09/2022 03:52

Definitely not a thing! Don't you smell nice enough for bed just by being clean?

Indoorcatmum · 23/09/2022 03:53

It's a thing 😊

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 23/09/2022 03:55

Never heard of it!

I love the freshly showered and moisturised smell, no need to add anything more. Plus I wouldn't want poor DP to cop a mouthful of perfume while he's kissing my neck.

Trez1510 · 23/09/2022 03:57

Wearing perfume to bed is a thing for me.

Wearing a specific perfume to bed is not something of which I've ever heard.

In summary: it is a thing, and is also not a thing.😛

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 23/09/2022 03:58

Op you do realise perfume is just a chemical concoction and to be inhaling that all night, every night is doing you or your lungs no good at all? Smelling clean from washing is all you need. Perfume gives many people a headache and makes them feel nauseous. Just lay off it!

SuspiciousBanana · 23/09/2022 04:01

I do it when I fancy giving my husband a jolly good work out!

Punkypinky · 23/09/2022 04:04

Do you also have a special separate sink for washing your face? (This is giving me the same vibes as that thread from last week 😝).

DaphneSprucesPippasClack · 23/09/2022 04:07

It's not a thing....

TheLadyofShalott1 · 23/09/2022 04:07

I can't remember ever putting perfume on before going to bed, isn't that what pheromones are for? ☺️

GeriSignfeld · 23/09/2022 04:11

Yes, except I spray the expensive stuff before bed because I like going to bed feeling nicely fragranced

PaperwhiteTheGhost · 23/09/2022 04:18

I don't put perfume on before bed.

I do put deodorant on after my evening shower when I put my PJs on. I've been told that's weird and not good for my skin. Is it?

BadNomad · 23/09/2022 04:21

I like to smell good for my boyfriend when I get into bed

Do you smell bad without perfume? I don't even take off what's left of my makeup half of the time. My poor DP gets to wake up with both me, and my face on the pillow, beside him.

VroomVrooom · 23/09/2022 05:03

Yes, I have put perfume on to go to bed, of course.

I don’t have a ‘bedtime perfume’.

How bizarrely restrictive.

stormywhethers321 · 23/09/2022 05:14

I don't know if it's a thing that many people do, but I like it put a creamy lavender scent on before bed. It helps me sleep.

Highlighta · 23/09/2022 05:20

No not a thing here and I love a bit of perfume, in the day.

Everyone has their own unique smell, and pheromones which are attractive. Nothing better than a clean soapy smell from your partner at night.

I think if a dp had to splash on any perfume at night, I'd ask him to wash it off as it would be sensory overload imo.

towelhammer · 23/09/2022 05:23

not a thing

Shoxfordian · 23/09/2022 05:31

Not a thing I ever do tbh but you do you op

cafedesreves · 23/09/2022 05:38

Would never do this but absolutely fine if you want to!

PhilomenaPringle · 23/09/2022 05:39

Nope Not a thing.

Lizzy1980 · 23/09/2022 05:47

It’s not a thing but occasionally if I’ve had a nice relaxing bath before bed and I’ve got clean sheets on the bed I put a bit of perfume on. As I’m writing this it sounds a bit daft but it makes me feel nice

Marvellousmadness · 23/09/2022 05:54

Wtf 🤨 bedtime parfume🤣
Now I can imagine you using something in the toilet for after you did a #2 for your little boyfriend... but bed time parfume 🤣🤣🤣

Vampirethriller · 23/09/2022 05:57

I do. I like it. Only the dog shares my bed though!
