Bedtime perfume … it’s a thing right?

Chloefairydust · 23/09/2022 03:31

So in conversation with a friend I told her I was nearly out of bedtime perfume. And she looks at me like I have two heads 🤔

so basically I have an expensive perfume I wear in the day, and a cheaper Avon one to wear to bed. My reasoning is I like to smell good for my boyfriend when I get into bed, so I shower, apply my face creams, body lotion, and then a quick spritz of bedtime perfume. So tell me I’m not crazy here? Bedtime perfume is totally a thing right?

Note - this friend thinks bedtime perfume is crazy, but thinks it’s totally normal her dad has never seen her mum without a full face of makeup ( they have been married 30+ years and I’m convinced her mum is actually a stepford wife 🤣)

Not a thing. But I hate smelling other people's perfume. Literally makes me gag walking past someone with their "signature scent" following them 10 miles behind. So I'd hate to smell it in bed.

cookiecreammmpie · 23/09/2022 07:55

No I don't do this. Husband likes the smell of my clean skin after a bath whilst he's snuggled up with me and I'm the same with him.

Musti · 23/09/2022 07:55

Not a thing ! I also wouldn’t like to go to sleep next to someone who had just put perfume/aftershave on.

Arenanewbie · 23/09/2022 07:56

Never heard about this.
@AlwaysMunching is right . It’s a wind up.

Is it a new relationship?

Maybe in the earlier days, now I jump in wearing my fluffy pyjamas.

brownbeauty80 · 23/09/2022 07:58

It's a thing...
I have a lavender smelling one...
love the light freshness it gives...

JaninaDuszejko · 23/09/2022 07:59

I like a bedtime scent, it helps me sleep. Like the OP something light, lavender scents are the obvious choice. There's 'chemicals' in everything including soap, washing powder and pillow spray so I don't see why someone who chooses to wear a light scent so bed is being treated so strangely.

OP you should have posted in style and beauty, the perfumistas know what you are talking about.

InsomniacVampire · 23/09/2022 08:00

Loads of people do it!
I don;t as I want my nose to rest at night, so dont even apply scented lotions, but I know lots of people who put a spritz of something before going to sleep.

InsomniacVampire · 23/09/2022 08:01

And agree with the poster above me, perfumistas will know you :)
Most people dont apply fragrance daily, not to mention at night, so you're not talking to the right crowd.

FlibbertyGiblets · 23/09/2022 08:02

Night time face CREAMS? What is this all about? I do get that night time face cream is a thing, I have seen products for sale, but multiples?

Matildahoney · 23/09/2022 08:04

Not a thing. Also FYI men don't like to taste the creams & perfumes!!

outtheshowernow · 23/09/2022 08:06

Never heard of it ever

I can't remember ever putting perfume on before going to bed, isn't that what pheromones are for? ☺️

Oops sorry, I have just realised that I mistakenly told a lie, as for the last few months my nose has been feeling overly blocked up - so I often add a few dabs of
Eau de Vick under my nostrils before going to bed...

MrAutumnal · 23/09/2022 08:08

Those marketing people are GENIUSES aren’t they. Bet they got a bonus the year they came up with this.

dudsville · 23/09/2022 08:10

I'm surprised at the voting! I have one bottle of perfume and i get a spritzer after each shower so morning and before bed!

Onynx · 23/09/2022 08:11

I do it - for me. I have a lovely light perfume - barely discernible so I don't use it by day, that I use for bed because I find it relaxing. DH likes it too but I wear it for me.

LadyEloise1 · 23/09/2022 08:12

JangolinaPitt · 23/09/2022 06:34

I do but just wear the same one -why would you want cheaper with your love than you wear to work?

Smile
KylieCharlene · 23/09/2022 08:13

I don't wear perfume to bed and can't imagine having a specific bedtime one.
Occasionally after a shower I may put on a scented body lotion (the ones you get free with a perfume purchase) so I suppose some nights I will smell of my favourite scent...

Inertia · 23/09/2022 08:14

Not a thing in my world.

Wearing make up in bed is equally odd- must wreck the sheets!

I shower if I’ve got sweaty / been cleaning (otherwise shower in the morning ) wash my face & moisturise, brush my teeth, bed.

LadyFromage · 23/09/2022 08:17

I've heard of it, kind of.

Less to do with smelling nice for someone, my mum loves perfume and always has cheaper/floral bottle of perfume to spray after a shower at night. This is different to her more expensive, daytime perfurmes.

She tends to shower in the evening and change into PJs for the evening, so sprays it on then.

OldTinHat · 23/09/2022 08:18

Definitely not a thing!

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/09/2022 08:19

Herejustforthisone · 23/09/2022 07:49

Probably gives his musty balls a wipe around with a damp towel.

😂😂

Cas112 · 23/09/2022 08:19

I have maybe sprayed a bit of perfume once or twice before bed if I'm feeling like getting up to things with my partner but it's not a thing, I wouldn't dream of wasting any perfume constantly doing that

Glittertwins · 23/09/2022 08:19

Just bizarre, not a thing!!

BMW6 · 23/09/2022 08:22

Not a thing.

My DH is lucky if I take my socks off
