To ask about Italy and money?

Need to go to Italy at short notice. Any advice about spending money?

Euros or can money be taken out of ATMs without a problem?

Using credit/debit cards?

We have a post office travel money card to pre load which we used in Italy

I always use a Revolut card abroad for best exchange rate. You can take some cash out of the ATM just to have but pay with card mostly.

You will be able to use your credit and debit cards and also take euros out of atms. Obviously it’s not the cheapest way of getting foreign currency unless you have a card that gives you the interbank exchange rate - like Revolut or Starling.

In Milan at the moment. No issues using any type of cards. Lots of atms too.

Revolt card and mostly use that to pay in restaurants. Occasionally take out cash but even taxis take cards.

I used Revolut everywhere including taxis and market stalls.

I take some euros but put most on my card. You can use atms there.

Monzo but I assume you haven’t got time. Pre-order cash and collect at the airport - do not buy at the airport unless you have pre-ordered.

Depends where you are going. We went to lake garda in summer and were surprised how many places didn’t take card.
