To go to London for the funeral or not?

(posting for traffic)

Lots of trains to London on for tomorrow and reasonably priced. An hour train ride.

But, with all the expected crowds, I can't make up my mind whether to go or not?!

Anyone going to London tomorrow?

I'm not, but o my because I queued for 12 hours yesterday to see the Queen lying in state. Otherwise I would have.

WildfellAnne · 18/09/2022 15:33

I live in London and I’m not going. I shall watch on TV.

Lcb123 · 18/09/2022 15:34

I live close enough to cycle there so might head in first thing to see what it’s like.
I’d be nervous heading home on public transport afterwards I think it’ll be very busy.

I'm considering it still. Don't need to be home until 11pm for work. Would probably have to head up straight away after work tonight though.

People were camping on The Mall already at 8am this morning. Tents, airbeds the lot!

Always4Brenner · 18/09/2022 15:50

Not a chance in hell.

Everydaywheniwakeup · 18/09/2022 15:53

Been today, it is INSANE. There are thousands of people everywhere and pedestrian traffic is crawling.

ilovesooty · 18/09/2022 15:55

No way.

JustDanceAddict · 18/09/2022 15:59

No way, I live in London & we’ll watch on TV.

NuffSaidSam · 18/09/2022 16:01

I can't think of anything I want to do less! It's going to be so crowded.

Unicorn717 · 18/09/2022 16:05

I wouldn't go.

Tupperwarelid · 18/09/2022 16:11

We went yesterday for a look round and people are already camping along the route. I’m not sure how much you’ll see.

PinkiOcelot · 18/09/2022 16:14

You’ll see more on the telly.

Womencanlift · 18/09/2022 16:15

Nope. I went today and had a 1 hour walking detour to basically walk somewhere that would take less than 5 minutes in normal times

As much as it’s a lovely atmosphere I do think tomorrow will be so chaotic that it will be such a frustrating day (I would say it wouldn’t be enjoyable but that’s not appropriate for a funeral but hopefully you get what I mean)

Bonjovispjs · 18/09/2022 16:16

God no, I live in London and will be staying in and watching the funeral on tele.

Annabananna1 · 18/09/2022 16:17

Are any other big parks In London other than Hyde park showing it?

OneFrenchEgg · 18/09/2022 16:52

Some of those tents are massive. So weird taking up half the pavement. I can't relate to this at all.
