To wish DH did a bit more with the children?

DH is a lovely kind, gentle dad to our two DCs (both under 3) but I wish he’d do a bit more with them.

If I ever go out, it’s not often but on the odd occasions I meet a friend or get my hair done, he just puts the TV on for them. It also means I don’t get much of a break. I just wish he’d take them to the park or something. If I suggest it he says yes but then only does it with me!

Has anyone else had this?

I had one of those. Had being the operative word. He only got worse but was lazy in many other ways too. It made me sad for my children and drove me mad that The kids would never be out of the house without me.

don’t get me wrong, great guy in many ways but him not being a great or involved dad was a massive turn off.

Yes - and I left him. He does a bit more now he has her EOW, but it's still not loads and still not taken her to the park more than a handful of times. It wasn't just his attitude to our child that killed the relationship, he slowly just left everything to me too. The nail in the coffin was related to our child when he refused to take her to an activity because it didn't interest him (even though she was begging him to).
My life is so much better.
