I got divorced a few years ago, getting away from a bully and controlling narcissist.

He texted me last night to say he's thinking of declaring himself bankrupt and had given me advance warning
So I can 'plan my income' ie he's going to halt the childrens' maintenance
Payments (which he underpays
Anyway) ... he has a history of spending in his toys and luxury items (think cars, watches, expensive home improvements) while pleading poverty.

I am getting legal advice but is it too harsh for me to shop him now to HMRC and the CMS for tAx dodging and expected maintenance arrears? I want to be ethical but he's been so shitty to me in the past and I've had enough. Oh yeah, We have a private maintenance arrangement so What if I register a claim with the CMS too? Thank you in advance.

What a shit ! Do whatever needs to be done - he’ll have hidden his assets anyway.

Do it !!

Definitely involve CMS. In bankruptcy, he would be allowed to budget for the required amount of maintenance for his income, he can't write off any CMS arrears within bankruptcy either

Interesting....even if not an official Arrangement? Or shall I register and get it official and then it's that arrangement that is protected? Thanks v much

Make it official. Within a bankruptcy budget the applicant is always allowed to maintain maintenance payments to the level set by the gov.uk calculator so no reason for him to pre warn you he won't be able to pay ongoing maintenance

Thank you. I will. You stars.
