Russia is recruiting soldiers by allowing them to rape Ukrainian women

'Russia is recruiting young men to fight in Ukraine by telling them they can rape any young women that they capture and they'll get an amnesty on return.'

As usual, women are always the casualties of war...

God, I know that shouldn't be shocking because I've heard about rape in Ukraine already, but that is shocking. War always boils down to the same things.

From BBC: 'While Russian law does not allow commutation of prison sentences in exchange for mercenary service, Mr Prigozhin insisted that "nobody goes back behind bars" if they serve with his group.

"If you serve six months (in Wagner), you are free," he said. But he warned potential recruits against desertion and said "if you arrive in Ukraine and decide it's not for you, we will execute you".

No one goes behind bars also includes rapists.

If they are promised they will be free if they serve, isn't that saying there are no consequences for what happens when on duty?

What this says is that those in prison already will receive an amnesty if they fight. Though we’re arguing over semantics because the sexual offences most of us can’t even imagine are already being carried out with virtual impunity.

But they will be free if they serve. Bit of a contradiction...yes it's a sin... With no consequences. And these are criminals who are already in prison presumably for a reason...

I wouldn't say this is "new" news. Women and girls are always the first casualties of war. Raped to get them compliant, raped to stop their menfolk from fighting, raped because they can. Its been this way for hundreds of years. Sickening Sad

So they are recruiting criminals to serve in the army. If they make it home alive, they won't have to return to jail.

However they must not

  1. desert or surrender, they must fight to the death.
  2. Do drugs or drink
  3. Sexually assault anyone, male of female, or anything.

They will look hard at anyone with a drug or sexual assault history.

I think your worried about the wrong thing, based on this video.

It doesn't say that. It actually says the opposite. Sex with men, women, flora and forna is a sin.

Sadly agree but it's women and children that are the first casualty.
