To think there is a lot of embellishment going on

Watching tv this morning and they are rolling out the World and his Wife to tell stories about their “personal moments” with The Queen.
AIBU to think a lot of them are making stuff up or over exaggerating their tales for attention?

Yes I stood in line for 8 hours yesterday in Edinburgh and we had press and Tv reporters coming up and down the line constantly asking to interview people who had met the queen or had come from far away for the event. Someone beside me had come from Canada and was told it wasn’t far enough .

Another family beside us were of Indian heritage and a TV channel started to interview them. But when they found out that they were Scottish and lived in Edinburgh they stopped .

I was watching the news yesterday and a man on there said that one time in the 80's the queens car broke down on the way to an event so he had to fix it. He is a mechanic.

I was thinking: "Okay. And?"

Apparently half the UK knew her personally now.
