To want to yell at all the maybes?

I'm organising a social event for a club I belong to. I was asked to do it by a number of members.

I first put out the details about a month ago and got quite a few yeses, some no, sorry we're aways and loads of maybes.

It's just over a week away now and I need to confirm numbers with the venue. I've told people that and asked for final numbers and I'm still getting "I hope to be there if I'm not working" or "I'll be there if I can get childcare".

I'm going to have to draw a line and say confirm by x date or you're off the list but grrrr. I know there'll be drop outs on the day too. I don't know why I do it 😆

Has any money been put down for this? If not, just cancel the bloody thing and let them organise it themselves.

I don't need to cancel I've got plenty of definites to make the thing work. It's the others!

Can you take a deposit for it and provide a drink or snack?
