Hi everyone
I am having some really strange ovulation symptoms this month
-ovulation pain on both sides. sometimes one side hurts and then the other side starts hurting. sometimes both sides hurt at the same time
-ovulation pain that has lasted more than 2 days

I am so worried that it could be pelvic inflammatory disorder and not ovulation pain.

Has anyone else had this kind of ovulation pain?

I had a really bad one the month we conceived DD. I have never in my life experienced such pain and discomfort for 3 days total - it was so bad that I considered going to A&E. If it is pain on both sides it could also be something else - so may not be the worst idea to have at least a phone appointment with your GP?

I will definitely contact my gp about it. I am really hoping it is not pelvic inflammatory disease

Has anyone else had ovulation type pain on both sides?

Please go to GP and get checked out. It could be an ovarian cyst. I've had one and it was incredibly painful.

LongBlobson · 13/09/2022 19:59

I've had strange ovulation pains, see your GP they can refer you for a scan. It's likely nothing to worry about. Mine was apparently small cyst that resolved itself. But good to get checked.

Have you had previous births, particularly c sections? I noticed intense ovulation pain that got worse after my c sections. It was so intense that I wasn't able to always distinguish which side it was radiating from, it seemed to switch. It has improved massively since my last caesarean actually. Perhaps something to do with clearing up scarring, I'm not sure.

I have never given birth. The pain also switches with me too.

@LongBlobson how long did it take to resolve

My ovulation pain has really ramped up over the last few months, increased CM, some brown spotting for a day or two. I'm approaching 41 and it's like my body is reminding me it's ovulating!

It seems quite an overreaction to worry to this extent after just 2 days.

Possibly, but after 3 years I’m sure it’s resolved itself somehow…
