To wonder how the hell to get my money back from Clarks?!

Yes, naming and shaming (hope that’s allowed!) after buying a pair of children’s shoes back in May. No stock so ordered home delivery from the store. Shoes never arrived, tracking says they’re en route, clearly they’re never arriving.

In store they tell me to contact them online. Chat robot doesn’t work. Calls unanswered. Two tweets ignored. I’m going to have to report to Trading Standards?!

£40 down the drain with a reputable supplier… Honestly never buying from them again.

Just do a charge back through the bank, goods not received.

legalseagull · 12/09/2022 16:58

Contact your bank to have the money recalled?

ny20005 · 12/09/2022 16:59

How did you pay ? If you paid by card, report it to card issuer as goods not received

Goostacean · 12/09/2022 17:02

By debit card… can I still do that?

Because they don’t take Amex in store - one of the only shops I use(d) that doesn’t. Even the local bakery takes it!

Did you email customer services?

Goostacean · 12/09/2022 17:09

Yes, I think twice?! They state a 10 working day response time, and after 7 weeks I’ve still heard nothing.

They’ve had time to change their voicemail to a 45 second speech about the Queen and her life of service though, thank goodness.

Why are you only chasing it now??

Goostacean · 12/09/2022 17:16

I’ve chased it for months- went in store after a week, called, emailed… I foolishly thought they get to the message while dealing with their high call volumes etc and reimburse me. But I agree- more fool me!!!

Dixiechickonhols · 12/09/2022 17:16

Just claim back on card.

Why are you only chasing it now??

What makes you think that based on her post?

LuckyLil · 12/09/2022 17:19

Call your bank. Reverse the payment.

Goostacean · 12/09/2022 17:19

On hold for 7 mins and counting- at least better than recently when their phone lines shut at 2pm?!

Business WhatsApp is a bot that tells you all the live agents are busy but they will email me within 2 days…

www.clarks.co.uk/contact

there’s a number, doesn’t anyone answer?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/09/2022 17:20

Email the CEO,I do that with every company with shit service.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/09/2022 17:21

Decidualcast · 12/09/2022 17:24

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor have you had good outcomes from emailing CEOs?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/09/2022 17:25

Yes and almost imstant responses. I don't mess around anymore, I give them one chance to respond then I email the CEO.

Goostacean · 12/09/2022 17:28

Okay. Well obviously now that I’ve been on here complaining to you lot, someone DID pick up and I’ve got my refund. Hallelujah. For the record, I’ve previously called, emailed, tweeted (literally set up Twitter for this purpose…), spoken to the bot… nothing was working. Sod’s Law this has worked and now I look like a muppet.

The CEO email is interesting as I also have a much more serious complaint about an attempted sexual assault by a delivery person… I got fobbed off by the company and need to escalate…

I was about to say I had similar, and set aside a morning to call them. I had to hold for over an hour but got through and got my refund. I'm glad you did too. I also got an email a few days later with a £10 voucher.
