I have a newly diagnosed, chronic bowel condition. There's a specific type of medication for it that gets to the root of the issue and should make a big difference to my life very quickly - my consultant assured me of this.
I waited two years to be 'bad' enough to be referred to gastroenterology.
Nearly a year for a (phone) consultation.
It took five days for the prescription to reach me in the post, because of postal delays/strikes.
No local pharmacy would order it in for me. I had to go to Boots.
Boots did order it, on Wednesday, saying it would be in by 3 tomorrow. It wasn't. It isn't in by 3 today either. I MIGHT be in by 3 tomorrow, but they wouldn't be able to dispense it, because of pharmacist shortage. So now my hopes are on Monday being the day it finally arrives, more than 10 days after it was initially prescribed.
I've lived with the issues for over two years, so I should be used to it, but I just feel so depressed and frustrated to have to go through all this just to get a box of pills. The weekend stretches ahead and I will v likely need to take strong painkillers throughout. My energy levels are depleted (because of condition) and I just want to go to bed.
I know it's not life threatening, I have absolute perspective on that. I just feel a bit let down really. AIBU to think I could prob go on Facebook and find a dealer quicker than doing all this?
