To think I shouldn’t be drained for a 25K job?

I’ve reached my limit.

I’m sat here staring at my laptop screen, absolutely drained. For pennies.

OMG same! They get their wages worth now. So I could do more but I won't. They no longer get what they done pay for.

I'm getting my exit stratergy in place and will hopefully be out soon.

Time to look around for something better - unless this is an investment-in-your-cv job, in which case set a time limit before moving on?

Dotjones · 09/09/2022 11:36

It's called quiet quitting, the say is "act your wage" - do the minimum acceptable to keep your job. I've been doing it for a few years now, there's no point getting stressed if it doesn't result in a better payrise. The decider for me was getting a 1.5% payrise because my appraisal was excellent, instead of the 1.4% people with an average or poor appraisal. Fuck it.

Also, I work for a private pub company who boast millions in profit. Am I fuck lining anyone else's pockets. They can afford my time if they want it.

I’m on 23.5 and I agree with you. FYI I’m not willing to progress in the near futre (not in my job), so I just do what I’m meant to do. No unpaid overtime or stressing too much over improving processes etc. My boss can do it if he wants to.

OP I feel your pain and I’m on £22k. I’m shattered, work is non stop I’m constantly busy, yesterday I forgot to even have a break and feels for nothing! Very disheartening

I'm on more money, but still work in admin. It's relentless, I bat away one task and two more come in. I find myself holding my breath and racing through things. Yet feel I can't say I'm mentally exhausted because it's admin, and the higher-ups do longer hours and have more responsibility, yet don't seem burnt out.

I'd love a task I could dig into for a leisurely hour that used a bit of brainpower and not have endless 5 minutes tasks flooding in. Being both bored and stressed is very draining.

I hope you don't mind if I make more but I'm on a similar mindset today. 51 years old professional degree, fucking 30k and worked fucking 13 hour days all week to catch up because I had the temerity to visit family for five days last week. Fuck them
