To feel sorry for the neighbours when nanny kid makes so much noise?!

I ADORE my nanny family. Absolutely love them.

But the parents insist on playing football with the 6 year old before 9am every day. Ball smashing against the fence. Neighbours on one side are elderly and the neighbours on the other side work nights at a hospital.

Am I being oversensitive thinking that we should wait until at least 10am?

I don’t know what a nanny family is… I genuinely can’t tell if I’m just really stupid or if this doesn’t actually make sense 😬

I think the OP is a nanny, and she's talking about the family she works for. I think!

Skinnermarink · 06/09/2022 22:09

The family OP nannies for.

So before school every day they’re outside playing football?

Michellebops · 06/09/2022 22:09

I'm guessing op is the nanny and she's referring to the family she nannies for being unreasonable with their behaviour.

I think 9am is fine. Let the neighbours speak up if they have a problem

WaddleAway · 06/09/2022 22:10

Ah ok, that does make sense, thank you!

WeAreOnTheRoadToNowhere · 06/09/2022 22:10

I thought you had goats in the garden. I imagine they would have fun with a football ⚽️

CactusBlossom · 06/09/2022 22:11

I'd be pissed off with a 6 year old playing football banging against the fence before 9am every morning. I'm guessing you are the nanny to this family, and are considering the neighbours of the family concerned. Good for you!

greensnail · 06/09/2022 22:12

If I'm working nights I'd much prefer the noise to be before 9am than after 10.

Sunnyqueen · 06/09/2022 22:13

Football smashing against the fence is never good. But on this occasion I think you should probably stay in your lane...

LMCOA · 06/09/2022 22:14

Yes, sorry. I am the nanny!

Most people have left for work/ school by 9am. I think not being allowed out in the garden to play until 10am is a bit much.

ManateeFair · 06/09/2022 22:16

Have the neighbours complained? And is it the parents playing football with the kids before 9am, or they telling you that’s when you have to play football with them?

Not sure about the shift workers - it will depend entirely on exactly what hours they work - but in my experience a lot of elderly people get up very early anyway, so it’s possible it doesn’t bother them. But it might be worth mentioning to the parents that you’re wondering if it’s fair to make that kind of noise in the early mornings. It does seem a bit early for football against a fence.

Thanks for asking for clarification!

Bit of both. Parents play out there but sometimes they expect me to be out there with her.

Meant to say that there have been no complaints from the neighbours.

I'm probably being paranoid!

I thought it was about goats too! 😂

Op - I think you should let the homeowners / nanny family deal with complaints from the neighbours if there are any. Complaints that is.
