To ask friend if she’s definitely coming

I live overseas in a very popular tourist destination.

A friend she was going to visit this year - August, September, October and now end of November has been floated.

She keeps saying she will ‘look’ at flights but never books them. She’s sent over some that work both sides and but has now said again ‘I will look at flights this week’.

I just want to know if she’s actually coming. It’s a while off but a bank holiday here and if she’s not coming, I’d like to book a trip away. Looking at flights doesn’t mean anything is confirmed.

Can I be pushy for an answer / to get it booked or is it too far away? There’s no money issues.

I absolutely would say you're planning some trips yourself so has she decided if she's visiting this year.

Just book your holiday and say you're now going away then.

@GoneWithTheWine1 I’d love to see her and why the bank holiday weekend, I could be off work too.

Yup! "I'm thinking of booking a holiday over XXX time, could you confirm which dates you're visiting so we don't miss each other?"

Then if no response, "OK I've booked to go away from X til X, let me know if/when you plan on coming to stay."

Ignore her and book your holiday. She needs to work around you.

Annabananna1 · 06/09/2022 19:46

Yes of course. I'd go as far as saying 'can you let me know by the weekend if you're coming on X date because if not I'll make my own plans 😊'

Book your holiday and tell her you're away those dates. She's in no rush.
