Whether they just started or are already at school - what did they enjoy today?

My DD has just gone into Year 6 and was super excited at having a locker for the first time - she came home and told me they can decorate it with photos! And also she is monitor for their pet snail this week 🐌I asked what they had done apart from that and the answer was 'stuff'.

You got more info than I did from my dc. DS, might try out for the school eco Council and had a spelling test. Ds2 who knows how his day went. Shrugged when I asked if he enjoyed seeing his friends and said "sort of" when I asked if he'd had a spelling test. Like getting blood out a stone. And I was so excited to finish.work and get home to see how their day had been!

I know it's maddening sometimes! Especially when you ask what they did and they say 'nothing'!

My youngest two both got a cookie at lunchtime which was very exciting apparently
Oldest two don’t go back till tomorrow but I’m sure the answer will be ‘nothing’ 🙄

Dd in Yr1 got a sticker for...making a really colourful rainbow picture? And she made a new friend who wears pink glasses.

DD in Yr6 had to do ACTUAL work like PE and going to assembly which was THE WORST. And her teacher is the strictest and they had to do arithmetic. But she did get to go to the library, which sounded positive.

Mine visited the swimming pool and was aggrieved that school swimming lessons take place in the teaching pool, rather than the big pool - she’s 8. Seemed pretty happy with her teacher, who’s brand new to the school, so that’s good.

Youngest, reception, came home with a party bag and was super excited that her first school lunch was sausages and jelly. She was also excited she got to skip the lunch queue because she has allergies so she gets first pic of the food on offer.

Yr6 again the lockers, though the class is oversubscribed so she has to share, but is happy it’s with her best friend. was also asked to be a member of the Eco Committee.

Third one, video gamed themed birthday invite.
