My second time applying for PIP as the first time was an absolute shitshow and rather than complain I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and start again with a fresh claim.
This time, I got a decision, I applied for a Mandatory Reconsideration straight away. This was in March.
Called in July to check in as I hadn't heard back yet. I was told, no decision yet, there's a backlog so give it more time.
Called again today, 25 weeks after initial MR request. I was told its still not been looked at and they will get it sorted ASAP. I asked to speak to the complaints team.
They put me through to someone (not the complaints team) who said that a decision was actually made in May, MR was denied, but for some reason I wasn't notified. So I ask to be put through to the complaints team again.
They put me through to someone (still not the complaints team) who said that not only has the MR been done but they marked it down as cancelled instead of completed. She doesn't know what to do so will have a look into it and get back to me.
How is this ok? This is a government scheme, how are they so incompetent that the decision wasn't logged correctly, I wasn't notified that a decision was even made, I asked twice, after the date that the decision was apparently made and both times was told that there was still no decision.
Yabu - They have a lot to do give them a break
Yanbu - it's a bloody joke and they need to sort their mess out
